Company Profile

Custom Elevator Interiors (CEI) was founded in 2001 by Tim Middlemiss, a certified elevator mechanic with extensive sales and management experience in the industry. He created a niche market for certified interior manufacturing and installation specialists through professionalism and dedication, which has allowed CEI to grow to be the leading expert in Western Canada.

CEI’s strong business principles and high quality work have resulted in repeated and increasing demand for its products and services. A strong commitment to not only meeting but exceeding the expectations of all of its clients is carried out by manufacturing and installing a first-rate product as well as by offering the highest level of customer service.

Adhering to a strict code of ethics and by investing strongly in its employees, CEI pursues excellence and perfection on a daily basis—in all areas of its operations. Schedules are tight.  Elevator shutdowns are critical.  CEI understands the time sensitivity on most projects and therefore strives to provide its services in short order, quickly and effectively.

With an in-house design team, an engineer on staff, many years of field experience in the vertical lift industry among its installers, and a group of sales consultants who manage a range of projects, CEI’s staff provide the tools and spend the time with clients from the point of conceiving a project to the point of completing the installation, and beyond.

Jeff Leachman has extensive experience in the elevator world, having first worked in the field for CEI before becoming an established salesman.  Jeff’s outgoing and sociable personality as well as his technical knowledge and commitment to relationship building, combine to make Jeff the consummate professional who provides satisfaction to all of his customers.  As a former golf pro, you may find yourself so lucky to be doing deals with him on the back nine, and getting a lesson in chipping along the way.

Outside of work, and in addition to putting for birdie, Jeff enjoys spending time with his two beloved children and wife, watching the Penguins make short shrift of the competition, and tending to his large and exotic aquarium of prized fish.

SOURCING QUALITY SUPPLIERS

Our team of professionals has access to a wide variety of materials, and is happy to research the availability and feasibility of desired materials.  Being well versed in the Elevator Safety Code and requirements for materials, the sales team will ensure that all materials selected meet the appropriate flame-spread and smoke-development ratings, so as to be in accordance with code.

ENSURING COMPETITIVE RATES

When building your proposal, the sales team makes sure they are getting the most updated pricing, and sourcing materials from cost-effective suppliers.  The sales team will often offer options and alternatives, and do whatever is necessary to work within budgetary constraints, without compromising on quality.  Value speaks to both cost and quality—the CEI sales team can balance both for a pleasing and practical aesthetic.
